Strong-Lok - Single Sided Fishplate

Strong-Lok was designed in response to a specific customer issue where the stock rails in a turnout needed reinforcement.

‍

Cold Forge designed a single sided fishplate to reinforce the stock rails.

‍

As part of the design exercise a full Finite Element Analysis was undertaken along with a comprehensive Failure Mode Effects & Criticality Analysis.

‍

The result of the Strong-Lok installation has been a significant reduction in maintenance intervals for the turnout and an increase in line up-time.
