Global Insights for a Smarter Australian Rail Future
In September, Cold Forge’s Managing Director Andrew Carroll travelled to Berlin for InnoTrans 2024 – the world’s largest trade fair for transport technology.
Held every two years this event is unmatched in scale. With 2,940 exhibitors from 59 countries and a record 170,000 visitors from 133 nations, every aspect of the rail sector was on show: Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure, Public Transport, Tunnel Construction, and Interiors – all under one roof (well, quite a few roofs!).
It was a full-on 3 days, packed with deep conversations with global suppliers, meetings with innovators from all corners of the industry, and time spent with potential partners shaping the next generation of rail technology. The scale and diversity of expertise was a powerful reminder that our industry doesn’t stand still.
At Cold Forge, we're committed to delivering smarter, safer rail infrastructure in Australia. That means constantly exploring what's possible, staying on the pulse of global trends, and strengthening the resilience of our supply chain in an ever-changing geopolitical environment.
"InnoTrans is more than an exhibition — it’s a global dialogue about where rail is heading," Andrew reflected. "Being there reaffirmed our responsibility to bring fresh thinking, reliable sourcing, and proven innovations home to benefit the Australian network."
We left inspired, informed, and proud to be part of an industry building momentum on a global scale — and ready to apply those insights right here on track.
